At the Status Seminar 2024 we hosted a lecture on "Rhetoric and Presentation Skills". Due to the positive response, we are pleased to offer all early career researchers a follow-up IntCDC Key Skills Workshop "Individual Rhetoric and Presentation Training" in small groups on 22 January 2025.

We will conduct four sessions of 90 minutes each, with a maximum of 6 participants.
Two of them will be held by Isabel Schmier and two by Orlando Schenk.

The workshops will take place on 22 January 2025:

13:30 - 15:00 (two groups)
15:30 - 17:00 (two groups).

Workshop leaders
Isabel Schmier is a lecturer of speech and theatre at Alanus University Mannheim and speech training at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She studied Speech and Communication Pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. As a passionate theatre maker, she has been involved in various theatre groups as an actress, director, producer, and voice coach. As part of the 2024 Status Seminar, Ms Schmier gave the lecture 'Rhetoric and Presentation Skills', on which the seminars offered here are based.”
   
Orlando Schenk, M.A. is a speech trainer (DGSS) and rhetoric coach. He holds a Bachelor's degree in History and Music from Durham University (UK) and studied Singing at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. He completed his Masters in Linguistics and Speech Training at the University of Regensburg.


The Akademie für gesprochenes Wort (Academy for the Spoken Word) – Uta Kutter Foundation, a nationally and internationally recognised partner of culture, politics and business with its spoken word ensemble. The aim of the foundation, which is unique in Germany, is to promote spoken language and poetry. It is active in projects to develop listening, language, and speaking skills. The academy conveys the cultures of orality, free speech and conversation.
