The Wangen Tower receives gold at the German Design Award 2025
The Wangen Tower of the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture” (IntCDC) implements research in material programming for sustainable high-performing timber components.
Statement of the jury:
“The innovative use of self-forming timber components in an accessible tower sets new standards in timber construction. The harmonious combination of supporting structure and design in the ‘Wangen Tower’ underlines the successful symbiosis of material-appropriate planning and precision craftsmanship.”
