For the upcoming recruiting period, the Clusters of Excellence IntCDC and SimTech jointly designed a series of workshops that aim at the earliest point into community development: the recruiting process. The innovative format is divided in two parts, sourcing and candidate selection.
The workshops on sourcing help the inviting institutes to address and reach a greater number of high potentials. In three sessions, the Equal Opportunity (EO) Managers Lisa Schöllhammer (IntCDC) and Almut zu Schwabedissen (SimTech) provide essential support and general hands-on information on topics regarding the first part of the recruitment process:
- Session 1 | 13 January 2022: How to address potential candidates in your job announcement. Wording, structure, templates, legal aspects.
- Session 2 | 27 January 2022: How to distribute your call for applications. Job portals, active recruiting, social media – what are the options and how we can support you in spreading the word.
- Session 3 | 7 February 2022 (IntCDC only): How to use research networks for active recruiting.
The first session aimed at increasing the number of qualified candidates who apply for the Clusters' open positions by more inclusive job ads. The workshop was well attended, including both spokespersons of the Clusters IntCDC and SimTech.
A follow-up consultation option offered by the EO Managers includes feedback on individual job announcements, as well as assistance in placing open positions in selected job portals.
Workshops for the second phase of recruiting (candidate selection) will be announced in the following months.
