In 2019, researchers from Stanford University (Ioannidis et al. 2019) published a ranking of the world's most cited scholars. This was highly acclaimed for its methodology and scope because it combined various citation indicators calculated on the basis of data from Scopus (Elsevier).
The most recent edition of the Stanford study's open-access, comprehensive dataset shows which scholars are in the top 2% of citations in each scientific field of 22 disciplines and 174 subfields. The study takes into account the fact that citation densities can vary considerably between individual disciplines.
IntCDC Director Achim Menges is once again ranked as the world's second most cited researcher in architecture, as he was in the 2022 edition. Congratulations on this continued success, which demonstrates the global visibility of research in architecture and the built environment at the University of Stuttgart.
