We are extremely delighted to welcome Naoki Uchiyama, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at The Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT). From 13th September until 12th October 2022, he will greatly support our research with his excellence as an International Visiting Professor at IntCDC.

"Prof. Uchiyama is an expert in the field of crane automation and robotics, especially in their realisation in an industrial context. A special field in this context is the automation of construction machines, such as cranes or excavators, preferably operated in outdoor environments under very heterogeneous environmental conditions."

Naoki Uchiyama's research interests are systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics and control of mechanical systems and industrial machinery.

He was a Director of TUT-ISYS (Institute for System Dynamics, University of Stuttgart) International Cooperative Research Laboratory for Advanced Systems Engineering and also a Director of the Kobelco Construction Machinery Advanced Crane Laboratory at TUT.

Naoki Uchiyama is a member of numerous committees, just to name a few of them: he is currently a Director of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan and a Secretary of the IEEE Nagoya Section.
