The International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) has invited Tenure-Track Prof. Thomas Wortmann to join its faculty. IMPRS-IS is an interdisciplinary PhD programme that brings together the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems with the University of Stuttgart and the University of Tübingen to form a highly visible and unique graduate school with internationally recognised faculty, working at the leading edge of the field. This programme is a key element of Baden-Württemberg's Cyber Valley initiative to accelerate basic research and commercial development in artificial intelligence. As the first and only architect at IMPRS-IS, Thomas plans to further expand the frontiers of computational methods in architecture, engineering and construction and to enrich the interdisciplinary research with an architectural perspective.
