Research Network AdvanceAEC

The network is supported by network partners who actively participate. Network partners are independent, evaluated, publicly funded, large research associations. Institutional research and working groups can join the network as a network group. All network partners are equal.

Established in 2020 with several other large, publicly funded research centres, the network provides a platform to share expertise, to foster exchange, and to build an international research community across architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, robotics and social science. The network is continuously expanding and open to both, institutional network partners and individual network members.

The network is aimed at national and international scientists from the fields mentioned in the mission statement. They can join the network via event-related or general registration. The AdvanceAEC provides a platform to share expertise, to foster exchange, and to built an international research community across architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, robotics and social science.

The network serves to connect research associations and like-minded researchers at the association level and at the individual level. Connecting researchers worldwide, AdvanceAEC provides a network-wide directory of individuals and their skills and expertise, serving as a fine-grained search database of over 1000 members.

IntCDC offers young researchers an attractive research environment for AEC, connecting them directly to the broader scientific community through our research network AdvanceAEC, that provides unique networking opportunities for early career researchers at the network level through many online events and biennial AdvanceAEC Autumn Schools (official event website) and postoc network.

All network activities are carried out by one or more network partners who bear responsibility for the respective activity.

• Mutual opening of the respective collaborative activities for doctoral students/postdocs
• Mutual opening of participation in doctoral seminars, further training, and fireside chats, lectures

• Joint Workshops, Summer Schools and Conferences

• Certificate: In the AAEC Network Partner Seminars, early career researchers expand their expertise in the topics of AdvanceAEC by engaging in in-depth discussions with prestigious guest speakers. If the PhD students attend at least 6 of 8 seminars, they are eligible for the AdvanceAEC certificate of Participation.
• Postdoc Support: The aim of the advanceaec postdoc network is to actively provide networking opportunities for all postdocs of the advanceaec network partners and to support you in your career planning, funding opportunities and with other topics of interest, needs and requirements.
• Job market: AdvanceAEC provides support for early career researchers through a job advertisment platform. The member database serves as an excellent recruitment tool.
